Cut Flower Garden: Yarrow Summer Berries

I decided to do a little compilation of our favorite varieties we have grown from seed — as we get ready to start a garden here in Tennessee… so we are starting with one that’s such a fan favorite, we are growing it again.

Yarrow Summer Berries

— a

chillea millefolium—

these perennials are such a great color combo and easy to grow from seed. Just the first. year you will be picking these beautiful flowers. The foliage is great in spring and are great in flower arrangements.

Yarrow doesn’t win the most flamboyant award, or the most interesting award. But they are a workhouse in a perennial border. They are a great vase filler, and this color variety is lovely. I love yellows, whites, pinks, apricots for my color palette, so it’s a perfect fit. You might see the Colorado mix at your local garden center, which is also another great version of the multicolored Yarrow or Achillea millefolium.

Honestly, thanks to Summer (my mom) for the photos of these from last summer after I moved, and she kept me updated on things I had added to the garden. Thanks mom!

And this year’s seedlings hardening off on the balcony.
